A man has been threatened with a knife during a robbery.

Police rushed to Ambleside Drive, Southend, armed with a Taser after receiving reports a man walking along the road just after 1.30am this morning had been approached by two men with a knife.

The man was threatened with the knife and ordered to hand over his phone and wallet.

He then ran off and called the police.

It is not thought that he was injured in the incident.

Police attended armed with a Taser, but did not need to use it.

A 43-year-old man was arrested by police at around 1.50am this morning.

He remains in custody.

The other suspect has not been found.

No description has been released of the other suspect.
