THE next Culture as a Dare event takes place on September 8 at the Fishermen's Chapel in New Road, Old Leigh.
The night sees Doomed Bird of Providence (on the Front and Follow label) return to the chapel playing last year's instrumental masterpiece Burrowed Into the Soft Sky. This band was last in town for the Leigh Folk Festival.
Also on the bill are the The Marbles Jackson, who return with their epic 'woozy' dream-pop, and Southend cult hero Pancake Promises launches his new EP, the first new material since his debut album of jingles for 'things which have not been advertised yet'.
It all starts at 8pm.
Admission is £5 on the door. Please bring your own soft drink.
Tea and coffee will be available by donation.
The chapel is an alcohol free venue.
