A WOMAN was attacked in a 'acid' attack at her home.
Two people broke into a home and assaulted the women, sprayed her with an unknown substance and knocked her unconscious and covered the home in paint.
It happened Beaver Tower, Mansell Close, Eastwood, yesterday morning.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We received reports of an aggravated burglary in Mansell Close, at around 7.50am yesterday, Sunday, September 2.
"A woman reported that two suspects forced entry to her home and sprayed her with an unknown substance before assaulting her and knocking her unconscious.
"The suspects then threw paint inside the building, causing criminal damage.
"The victim was taken to hospital suffering irritation to her face, cuts and bruises.
"While at the scene our officers arrested man on suspicious of aggravated burglary and he was released without charge.
"Anyone with information is asked to call Southend CID on 101 quoting incident 305 of 02/09 or Crimerstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
