A FULL house is expected when Judge Jules - one of the first superstar DJs who still plays all over the world - is coming to Mecca Southend, bringing three of his own handpicked support acts to come with him.

Not only is that exciting for house music fans, but if you fancy yourself as a DJ, you can win the chance to perform a 30 minute warm up set at the event and get to be on the same bill as him!

Judge Jules has released countless records, performed on every corner of the globe and had a BBC Radio 1 residency.

He has won dozens of awards including the number one DJ in the world.

Real name Julius O’Riordan, he was studying law at the London School of Economics (LSE) when he first launched his music career, which is how he got his moniker.

Still while having a massively successful career as a DJ, Judge Jules says he got to a stage in life where he realised DJing may have a shelf life, so he retrained to become a lawyer five years ago and now leads a dual existence as lawyer by day and DJ by night, practising entertainment law during the week, while DJing at weekends.

The team at Mecca Southend, based in Greyhound Way, are excited to announce that the international star will be making the in-club appearance on Saturday October 6, for what promises to be "a huge night to remember".

Bingo players can expect the usual early session at 7:30pm, before diving right into the Judge Jules essentials inside Mecca Southend’s lounge area from 9:30pm, which for one night only has been converted into a night club just for the DJ’s arrival.

The night doesn’t end there, with access to the after-party at Grosvenor Casino Southend, for VIP ticket-holders.

Lynsey Clark, general manager at Mecca Southend, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming internationally renowned DJ Judge Jules to our club!

“Everyone has worked so hard to get everything ready for Judge Jules arrival, and we can’t wait to show the locals.

“We have a night of fun and entertainment lined up for all attendees. From bingo to DJ acts, we’re really looking forward to inviting everyone through the doors for what is set to be a night to remember!”

Kevin Harrison, general manager at Grosvenor Casino Southend, said: “Judge Jules is an icon of British dance music, so we are delighted to be teaming up with Mecca Southend for a night of incredible music. With the VIP after-party at Grosvenor Casino Southend, our guests can keep the party going in a vibrant and welcoming environment and enjoy some high-calibre DJ sets.”

Customers can buy standard tickets for the performance for £25 or for serious Judge Jules fans, VIP tickets can be purchased for £40, which includes a backstage meet and greet with the legendary performer himself.
