A store has donated a gazebo to a shelter housing complex.
Argos, in the Knightswick Centre, Canvey gave the donation to Willalla House, Poplar Road, Canvey after Peter May, Canvey Independent councillor, approached the shop for support.
An event was held yesterday at the home with Argos representatives.
Mr May said the sheltered home asked him who could support them and he arranged to meet the store representatives who were happy to help.
He said: “I think its lovely that the shop was able to help.
“I think businesses do work to support the community, but we don’t always hear about it. The residents are so pleased and had baked treats for the Argos staff.
“They also gave the shop team biscuits and a card.”
