A CANVEY man has been arrested after an almost 12 mile police chase along the A12.
Police attempted to stop a car in Margaretting at 11.25pm on September 12.
However, the vehicle failed to stop and fled London-bound on the dual carriageway.
Officer were eventually able to stop it safely in Romford.
A spokesman from the force said: "While searching the vehicle we found a lock knife and cannabis.
"A 21-year-old man from Canvey was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and burglary.
"A 21-year-old man from Romford was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, two burglaries, possession of drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, driving under the influence and theft of a car.
"They have been released on bail until Friday, October 5."
