A DANCE school with a difference has let the genie out of bottle with a photoshoot ahead of an upcoming production.

La Danse Fantastique promises to transport audiences into a whole new world with their portrayal of Aladdin Jr at Towngate Theatre, Basildon.

The company, a mixed able bodied, differently able and special needs dance school, organised the shoot in full costume and with make up to help the young performers to get into character.

Moira Brock, 68, founder and director of the school, said: “It went better than I had expected.

“It was held at Barnards Farm, West Horndon and the surroundings are so beautiful.

“We have been to the venue a few times and it made for wonderful pictures.

“The children love working at the farm and were so excited to be there.

“The parents were also just as excited.

“There are a lot of eye catching spots at the venue which helped the shoot and pictures so much.

“We are looking forward to the show and have really pulled out all the stops this time including a flying carpet.”

She said the shoot was good but hard work. The show is at the Towngate Theatre, Basildon on October 5 and 6 and tickets are available from £14. See https://towngatetheatre.co.uk/aladdin-fantastique/
