SOUTHEND’S 99p cafe has struck a deal with the Salvation Army to help feed the homeless.
Grafters Cafe, on London Road, has devised a voucher scheme with the Southend Salvation Army which will see homeless residents cash in vouchers for breakfasts.
A spokesman for Grafters said: “Grafters Café is pleased to confirm the first charitable organisation to be a part of the ‘suspended breakfast’ voucher program is the Southend Salvation Army.
“In the next few weeks, The Salvation Army will be bringing out a voucher that can be issued to the homeless which they can redeem at Grafters for a Full English Breakfast and hot drink.
“Donations for the suspended breakfast will be collected by The Salvation Army, and vouchers will be distributed to the homeless individuals that they support.”
