WHISTLEBLOWERS from Thurrock Council social services have claimed a string of failures by their managers may have contributed to the death of a toddler.
It has been claimed that school teachers alerted the service of concerns three months before the death, reports the BBC.
The 23-month old toddler was found dead in January this year.
An inquest into the toddler's death found no cause of death, while police have also stated there were no suspicious circumstances.
A whistleblowers letter sent to the council chief executive allegedly claims that a 50-page internal review was undertaken, identifying many failings.
But the whistleblower claims the document has been buried and a serious case review was not completed.
Thurrock Council stated it is unable to comment while there is an ongoing investigation.
