A car crashed into a garden wall in Maldon this morning.

The incident happened at around 8.20am in Spital Road.

Ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "An ambulance, a rapid response vehicles, two Hazardous Area Response Team Vehicles and an ambulance officer attended a road traffic incident at Spital Road, Maldon shortly before 8.50am this morning, September 20.

"Three persons were assessed at the scene, but none required ambulance transport."

Tracy Barker-Chaplin, a mum of three who lives on Spital Road was out dropping her children off at school.

She said: “When I came back, the neighbours had a car in their garden.

“Apparently they had to cut someone out of the car.

“This is the second bad accident this week because we had a chap come off his bike too."

Tracy said residents had concerns about the volume of traffic on the road.

She said: “I remember once I tried to cross the road holding my daughter.

"I was waiting for 12 minutes and not one person slowed down to let us pass.

“I’ve been living here 13 years and it has definitely gotten worse in the last couple of years.”
