TWO care home managers have organised a fun day for 400 residents.
Leigh Anne Cowling and Laura Glyde, who work for homes owned by Runwood Homes, organised the event, called A Day to Remember, at Chelmsford City Racecourse.
This is the second year that Leigh Anne, who works at Broomhills care home, in Rochford, and Laura, of Stafford Hall care home, in Benfleet, have organised the event.
It involved 400 people from 33 Runwood Homes-owned care homes in Essex and Hertfordshire.
There was live music from Julie Jive, Tracey Searle, The Quiet Man, and Chris Whitecroft as well as a meal and a raffle.
The proceeds from the raffle will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event was attended by Essex County Council members including Mayor of Chelmsford, councillor Yvonne Spence,
Kieun Kwon, Runwood Homes’ associate director of dementia services said: “It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying themselves and experiencing a concert of this kind.”
