A LACE making club held a successful crafting event.
Members of the Thames Estuary Lacemakers joined together for the event at Hadleigh Baptist Church, Falborough Crescent.
The group was founded about 25 years by Janice Faint, 82, from Leigh, and she is still an active member within the club.
She said the latest event was fantastic and was thrilled by how well attended it was.
She added: “We all had a lovely day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“We had a beautiful cake that looked just like lace on the day.
“It was made for us by Jill Wilcox.
“We gave out special bags for our members at the event.
“The group worked to put decorations in the hall and it all looked lovely in there.
“Sadly, on the day we were missing a few members due to sickness but overall it was a good time for all.”
The group members enjoyed plenty of crafty fun including making different projects with lace and other materials at the weekend event.
Ms Faint said the events were always very popular.
She added that the group currently has about 67 members and is always looking for new people to join.
The lace making event was held at the town church on Saturday September 22.
