A DAUGHTER has spoken of her fury after her father has been burgled in a sheltered home four times.

Lisa Ward, 45, from Basildon said her father Raymond Threadwell, 69, who lives at Lanham Court, Pitsea was burgled for the fourth time.

She claims the crooks took the keys to his home.

Money and a mobile phone were also taken in the raid.

She said there have been on going issues at the sheltered accommodation site.

She said: "He was burgled twice in November 2016, then in August 2018 and then on September 27.

"He has got dementia and severe depression. The care home told me it cannot comment. I want to get him moved but keep being told we have got to go through the long process.

"We've been told we have to wait for another property to come available and bid on it.

"He is suicidal and it has caused him so much stress.

"He has lived there for about two years, and it has just got worse over that time.

"What is it going to take for something to be done.

"My father should be safe at this time of his life but he is now totally unhappy.

"We are unsure how they get in. We think they got on top of a bin and then climbed up the building and into my dad's window.

"The incidents are making his conditions much worse and he has had suicidal thoughts.

"I am worried it could cause him to take his own life."

She said she feels angry and that not enough is being done for the safety of the residents.

She claims during other incidents hundreds of pounds and cigarettes were stolen from her father's room.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are making enquiries following reports of a burglary at an address in Davenants, Pitsea.

"Personal items including money and a mobile phone were taken.

"Basildon CID are leading the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the team on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
