A man is still in a life-threatening condition after a serious assault in Laindon.

The man in his 30s suffered a serious head injury after he was attacked in Deacon Drive at around 5.40am on Wednesday October 3.

He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and is still critical after undergoing surgery.

Detective Inspector Julie Gowen from the Serious Crime Directorate said: “Our investigation continues into the assault and detectives are currently working to establish the circumstances around this attack.

“Officers will be continuing to make house-to-house enquiries and viewing CCTV from the area.

“Three men, who were seen acting suspiciously in the area earlier that morning, were later seen to be running from the area towards Leinster Road after the assault.

“We would like to speak with any members of the public who were in the area around the time of the incident and saw anyone acting suspiciously.

“If you have any information, please call us on 101, quoting incident 132 of October 2.”
