A CARAVAN has been dumped on the A13.

The dilapidated vehicle was spotted by drivers early this morning after it had been dumped near to the Five Bells Interchange.

It is in a serious state of disrepair, with two flat tyres and it has also been filled "to the brim" with refuse according to residents.

The vehicle is not reported to be blocking traffic on the road, however, this morning traffic is slow moving the A13 moving westbound.

Traffic is slow between the Five Bells Interchange for the A176 and Stanford-le-Hope on the A1014.

Rob Gledhill, Leader of Thurrock Council, said: “We are aware of this fly tip and take matters such as this extremely seriously, with a zero tolerance approach to environmental crime.

“This fly tip is currently being investigated by our officers and we will have the vehicle and its contents removed as soon as possible. 

“We will be making enquiries and checking any available CCTV to identify the culprits.

"Depending on the evidence available, we will take appropriate enforcement action, as is our normal procedure.”
