A MAN has been arrested following a shooting in a busy town centre.
He has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offence and GBH with intent after armed police swooped to Chichester Road, Southend.
A victim was treated at the scene for injuries that are not life threatening or changing.
A spokesman for Essex Police said:"We were called shortly before 1.20pm on Saturday, October 6 to reports a man had been shot with an air gun in Chichester Road, Southend.
"The victim is being treated for a superficial injury.
"A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offence and GBH with intent.
"He is currently in custody.
