THIEVES stole six mopeds from outside Domino’s in Langdon Hills.

The gang took the Honda Vision bikes from the branch at The Triangle, High Road, leaving customers waiting hours for pizzas.

Workers believe the thieves were watching the business and took the vehicles just after 2am as the staff left the takeaway.

An assistant manager, 18, who asked to remain anonymous, said the crooks are still driving around the town on the bikes.

She said: “I was working on this night and as we were closing up the shop we saw a white van pull up but didn’t think any more about it.

“We are unsure if this van was involved or whether they were hiding in the bushes nearby.

“They must have been watching us, I think it’s quite scary to think someone was doing this.

“We left at about 1.55am and the bikes were gone by 2.08am, so we think it only took them about ten minutes to take the bikes.

“The following night I locked up at about 10.10pm as I am worried about what could happen next, we have cash in the till and isn’t worth the risk.

“They could come back and anything could happen.”

The store worker said it was shocking and scary to think this happened where she works.

She said most of the staff are only 18-years-old and that she’s worked there for almost two years, but doesn’t know of anything like this happening before.

She said: “We have seen them riding about the town on the mopeds and they don’t seem bothered about it at all.

“We have been short staffed for delivery drivers anyway and now this will have quite an impact on business and deliveries.

“It will mean people will have to wait about one and half hours for a pizza if they want to have it delivered to their home.

“I think it is also likely to make our delivery drivers feel a bit scared about going out and doing their job.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called shortly after 9am on Sunday, October 7 to reports a number of motorcycles had been stolen from an address in High Road, Langdon Hills.
