LITTLE Adrianna Bertola is celebrating after winning her second West End role hot on the heels of her debut in Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Sound of Music. Adrianna, eight, stole the show while performing in the Sound of Music alongside Connie Fisher, who won the BBC talent show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria.

Now Adrianna, a pupil at Alleyn Court School in Thorpe Bay, has been signed up to play Cosette in Les Miserables, at the Queens Theatre in London's West End.

Proud parents Darren and Shana, of Somerville Gardens, Leigh, say life has changed quite a bit since their daughter first burst on to the scene last year.

Adrianna has already appeared on the front page of several national newspapers, who praised her for her performance in the Sound of Music. She has now also signed up with new agents Sylvia Young in London.

Dad Darren, 42, said: "She finished the Sound of Music about seven weeks ago and has since done a couple of commercials to keep her busy.

"She did one for Batchelors Soups and one for the drugs company Pfizer as part of their stop smoking campaign.

"It has all been quite tiring for her but she has absolutely loved it.

"We really want to say thank you to her drama teacher at Alleyn Court Mrs Slater, who has been so supportive."

Adrianna said she had also been keeping a close eye on the career of another BBC talent show winner.

Lee Mead, 26, is also from Southend and won the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Adrianna said: "I love his voice and was voting for him when he was on the TV. I loved being in the Sound of Music and now I can't wait for Les Mis. I was doing about four shows a week and it was such good fun."
