An early morning crash on a busy arterial road left one person trapped in their car this morning.
Emergency services were called shortly after 4am this morning to the four-vehicle crash at the Kent Elms junction of the A127.
The crash left one person trapped in their car and firefighters worked for more than an hour to free them from the wreckage.
Three crews responded, from Southend, Leigh and Rayleigh, and left the person in the care of the ambulance service at 5.20am.
Police closed the road at the time of the crash while emergency crews dealt with the scene meaning some bus routes had to be diverted and were delayed in the area.
Traffic reverted to normal by 6am.
The ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
