Police are appealing for witnesses after a masked man robbed a takeaway at knifepoint yesterday evening.
Officers were called with reports that a man had entered Subway on Broadway shortly after 7pm and threatened staff with a knife.
The man, who was described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, wearing a grey hooded-top and a black balaclava, stole a till and a three figure sum of cash.
The man was then seen riding a pedal bike on Rectory Park Drive away from Pitsea High Road.
No one was injured during the incident, but staff were left understandably shaken.
Officers would like witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage, who was in the area around the time of the robbery, to contact police on 101, quoiting reference 42/163356/18.
