A SPECIAL guest attended the Scout's annual badge presentation, to celebrate their magnificent achievements.

On Tuesday November 6th, Councillor David Merrick joined 120 parents and kids from the 4th Rochford Scout Group at their Scout hall for their annual presentation.

The children from the Scout group were awarded with badges for the various activities that they have taken part in throughout this year. They attend the club at the John Howard Hall, on Hall Road, Rochford.

The Beaver Pack, Alpha Cub Pack, Omega Cub Pack, Scouts and the Young Leaders all received badges to celebrate their tremendous efforts.

Parents attending the event very proudly watched their children accept the badges during the evening. All Scout leaders, children and parents who attended the event were then able to enjoy a fantastic firework display.

Current Chairman of Rochford District Council, Councillor David Merrick, attended the event alongside former Chairman, and friend to the group, Mrs Heather Glynn. They were both very impressed to hear about the fantastic activities that the whole group take part in.

Councillor Merrick said: “It is wonderful to see the confidence that Scouting gives to these children, which will carry on with them into later life”.
