Burglars raided a family golf club for a third time, leaving the owners fearing for their safety.

During the third incident within a few weeks the club was raided and sausages and bacon stolen.

When they tried to install CCTV the burglars stole this as well.

Kari McDowell, who runs the club along with her mum and dad, believes all of the incidents are linked.

She said: “We all work so hard as a small business, it’s just horrible.

“It has only been 22 days since the last burglary, I’m starting to feel this is a little bit personal.

“I didn’t sleep at all after this last one.

“Although they did damage the window getting in this time, as each time they seem to wedge it open with a screwdriver, they never leave any mess.

“They have got to be the tidiest, cleanest burglars I’ve ever encountered.

“They did however leave a footprint, although police couldn’t do anything with it as it was wet.

“It was a huge footprint though which confuses me as I would have thought this was down to kids but I’m not so sure now.

“This time they took some drinks and sausages and bacon.

“We are not going to bother replacing any of the alcohol now as it is coming up to the end of the season.”

The CCTV will be replaced in a bid to catch the criminals.

Fortunately none of the golf equipment has been taken but for Kari and her family, the constant loss of stock, especially alcohol, is just as frustrating to them, and damaging to the business.

Kari added: “We are definitely looking at getting CCTV back now.

“We didn’t report the first incidents as we didn’t see the point but this has become too much now and these people need to be punished.”

Kari has told the police about all of the burglaries now, in the hope that someone may come forward with information.

Officers have launched an investigation into all the raids and advice has been offered to help security at the club.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for information following three burglaries at the Noak Hill Golf Course in Billericay.

“These incidents were reported to officers on November 6.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any disturbances at the golf course over the past few months.

“On September 22, alcohol, soft drinks and food were taken from the premises.

“A few weeks later, on October 14, there was also an attempted burglary.

“On November 5, a large quantity of soft drinks and several food items were taken from the club.

“Please call 101 with any information and quote the crime reference number 42/161854/18.”
