VISITORS to Festival Leisure Park in Basildon got to meet some unusual creatures at a special event.

Hundreds of children were lucky to get to meet bird Squawk and dinosaur Smoked on Sunday.

The creatures roamed around the park surprising and delighting everyone who enjoyed opportunities to meet and have a photo with them.

They were even able to touch both characters and enjoy their cheeky antics as they moved around the leisure park outside Cineworld.

The characters made a number of public appearances at the park throughout the day, giving as many people as possible the chance to meet them.

The creatures were joined by rangers and keepers who were on hand to keep a beady eye on the mischievous animals as they roamed around the park.

Children were amazed by the lifelike huge and unusual creatures and loved the chance to get up close to them.

Leisure park bosses said the event went really well and that people loved meeting the two characters, who proved to be a very popular attraction.

Matthew Chambers, centre manager at Festival Leisure Park, said: “It was great to welcome Squawk and Smoked to Festival Leisure.

“We were delighted to see so many families enjoying having the chance to meet and pose for pictures next to these larger than life characters.”
