A WOMAN who was allegedly raped told police she felt “ashamed” after being attacked because she was working as a prostitute.

The interview was played to a jury at Basildon Crown Court yesterday as part of the trial of a man accused of raping her earlier this year.

Jaroslaw Halibozek, 29, is accused of picking up the woman, driving her to the Temple Farm Industrial Estate and attacking her on June 9.

The jury was played a video of the woman being interviewed by the police two days after the alleged attack.

During her interview, the alleged victim described how she was out in the Ambleside area of Southend before Halibozek pulled up and asked that she got into his car.

She said: “He pulled up in a silver car, and he told me to get in. I asked if he wanted business, he kept saying ‘get in’. I got in and shut the door and he drove off.

“I kept asking if he wanted business, but he didn’t respond. He barely said anything, very unresponsive. He looked like he was drunk, his eyes looked out of focus.

“We pulled up at the edge of the estate and he locked the doors. He kept saying ‘you, me, sex, now’. I told him I didn’t do that, but he wasn’t listening.”

The woman claimed Halibozek then became aggressive and grabbed her, attempting to pull her to have sex with her.

She said: “He kept trying to kiss me. I told him to stop and tried to fight him off. When he pulled me on top of him I kept my head turned away. As he was kissing me I managed to lean over and unlock the doors from the driver side, I then grabbed my bag and jumped out.”

She told officers Halibozek then followed her, pinned her down and raped her.

She added: “The second time he tore my dress off right through the middle, throwing me into the bushes and raping me. When he had finished, I jumped up and ran away.

“I flagged down another car which had two men in. They took me to a rave. I didn’t want to leave because I didn’t feel safe. I felt so ashamed because I’d been out trying to make money as a prostitute.”

Halibozek, of Danbury Close, Leigh, denies two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault.

The trial continues.
