A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, along with two other teenagers, following reports of an aggravated burglary in Rectory Road, Hadleigh.

Police were called just after 10pm on Friday, December 14, to reports that a group of boys had forcefully broken into a property and caused damage to a communal room.

After searching the area, police found and arrested a 14-year-old on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, using violence to secure entry, possession of cannabis, and two counts of assaulting a police officer.

A 15-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of using violence to secure entry, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of class B or C drugs.

The other 15-year-old boy was later arrested on Daws Heath Road, on suspicion of aggravated burglary and using violence to secure entry.

The occupants of the property in Rectory Road, were said to be extremely distressed by the incident, but were not hurt, and nothing is believed to have been taken during the burglary.

All three remain in custody.
