PARAMEDICS tried their best to revive a man who was found not breathing at his home, an inquest has heard.

Paul Flewitt, 49, died at Basildon Hospital on Christmas Eve.

An inquest into his death was opened at the Coroner’s Court in Chelmsford on Friday.

Mr Flewitt, from Benfleet, was found hanged at his home address on December 22.

Joe Lagrossi, coroner’s officer, said: “An ambulance was called and he was resuscitated but on arrival at hospital he was taken to intensive care and sadly passed away on December 24.

“A post mortem and toxicology reports showed the provisional cause of death to be hanging.”

Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said a full inquest will be held on June 11.

She added: “The body can be released and a mention will be held on May 6 as we should have had a report from the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

“I shall also need to see a copy of the post mortem report, and a report from police.”

The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust primarily provides mental health support, learning disability, social care and community services.
