A man has admitted to causing death by dangerous driving after he collided with a pedestrian on a zebra crossing in Hutton.
Ian Carney, 35, of Hutton Drive, Hutton, admitted the offence at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, January 4.
He is due to be sentenced at the same court on Friday, February 22.
At around 7.10pm on January 4, 2018, Damian Brzoscikowski, 34, was walking across a zebra crossing in Rayleigh Road when he was hit by Peugeot 2008.
Members of public quickly rushed over and gave Brzoscikowski first aid before he was taken to hospital.
The driver, Carney, was arrested at the scene.
Brzoscikowski died two days later in hospital.
A post mortem examination found that his death was caused by a severe traumatic brain injury.
