A pedestrian was left with a head injury after a crash in Leigh.
The victim, a woman in her 60s, and a moped were involved in the incident on Marine Parade near the junction of Herschell Road at around 12am on Sunday, January 13.
The pedestrian’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
The driver of the moped failed to stop at the scene and left in the direction of Hadleigh.
Police are encouraging them to come forward and speak to officers.
Officers believe that the rider was wearing an open-faced helmet and also had a scarf, which had a skull design on it, across the front of their face.
The moped is believed to be a model of Aprilia known either as a Habana or Mojito and will have had its headlight broken in the crash.
Anyone who may have seen this vehicle and has dash cam footage available to view, or who has knowledge of who the rider may be, is asked to contact the Chigwell Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting incident number 2 of 13/01.
