A CAR dealer in Leigh was in for a nasty surprise this morning when several vehicles on its forecourt were slapped with parking tickets.
Onlookers said staff from Essex Car Sales, at London Road, Leigh, were then seen trying to reason with two traffic enforcement officers.
At this stage, it is not clear why the cars were ticketed as they do appear to be parked in the dealership's car park.
One car, however, was not issused with a ticket and does appear to sit about 1ft further back than the ticketed vehicles.
Both Southend Council and the dealership has been contacted for comment.
