Police have cleared the road of emergency vehicles after a car left the carriageway on the A127.
Officers were advising motorists to allow extra time to travel after the crash on the Southend-bound A127.
The car left the road just ahead of the Rayleigh Weir and the incident has caused traffic to move slowly, causing delays in the area.
Insp Rob Brettell, of Essex Police's Road Policing Unit, said: "Traffic is very slow due to a slight injury road traffic collision. Please allow extra time - I am trying to clear it as quick as possible."
It is believed that only one vehicle is involved in the crash however this has not been confirmed.
Insp Brettell has now confirmed the road has been cleared but traffic is still heavy in the area.
