A driver who allegedly smashed his car into a parked vehicle and then failed a roadside drug test is due in court.
The incident happened in Basildon on Sunday night and was shared on social media by the policing team as a stark reminder about the dangers of drug driving.
PC Si Bailey said: "There was a road traffic collision in Basildon. Driver responsible hit a parked car. When the driver passed an alcohol breath test we figured something else must be up.
"Driver failed drugs test - cocaine. Spent some time with us in a cell and will soon be off to court."
An ambulance was called to the scene but it is not thought anyone was seriously hurt.
