SHOPPERS and motorists miraculously avoided serious injuries after a car ploughed through a Co-Op window.

Initial witness reports stated a BMW X5 was struck along London Road, Benfleet shortly before 3pm on Monday.

The Echo published initial eye witness descriptions that the BMW had been struck in good faith, but these claims have now been disputed via CCTV footage provided by another witness.
