A man was found dead near a residential street.
Officers were called just after 12pm yesterday, with reports that a man had been found dead in Second Avenue, Billericay.
Essex Police said the man's death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
The East of England Ambulance Service was also called to the scene.
