CHILDREN took to the streets to protest against Britain leaving the EU.

Pupils from Middle Street Primary School marched from Brighton Station to their school this morning to voice concerns about their future.

The children waved home-made placards, with slogans such as “Our Future is Europe...it’s worth fighting for”, and “Sorry for the inconvenience... we’re just saving the country”. Their path took them past the Green Party offices, along Queens Road, Duke Street, and on to Middle Street shouting “Stop Brexit!”.

A father of one of the children, Dan, who works for a digital media company, said: “I only found out about it this morning.

“My eldest, who is 11, was making his placard with his brother.

“Sometimes we underestimate children, they really do care about what is happening around them.

“Another year level of the school did their protest so the Year Six class is doing their own.

“There is a misconception that parents tell them what they should be doing. I always explain to my children both sides of the story.

“While I am a Remainer, I try to explain why some people support leaving the EU.

“This is all their own initiative.

“With talks about climate change and Brexit dominating our conversations, young people are truly worried about their futures.”
