Pulborough's Jimmy Balito is through to the final of The Voice.

Jimmy, 23, who ripped his shirt off during his performance of Coldplay's Fix You was clearly shocked to get through to the final four.

Before his performance, the singer songwriter said: "This competition has given me a lot of hope. I am going to enjoy the moment while it lasts."

His mother, Angela, said: "I am so proud of Jimmy. His dad would have wanted him to keep going. He deserves it so much."

He has joined singing teacher from Liverpool Deana Walmsley, actress Bethzienna Williams from London who was the wild card in the show, and Molly Hocking from Cornwall, after a public vote.

His coach, Olly Murs, said: "I want to make sure we get you to the final. You have had the toughest ride on The Voice. He is the comeback kid. This is a song of hope.

"I am so proud of you. It was a fantastic performance you have taken everything on board.

"The journey has been amazing, I don't want it to end for you. I don't want it to end, you stand for everything that this show is all about.

"You have gone through so much, I really want you to be in the final."

Fellow coach, Will.i.am, said: "It's really inspiring to see you relentlessly attempt to show the world what you have love. Having gone through last year and to see that you are stil shining, I salute you for that."

Jennifer Hudson said: "I don't know where to begin. I just want you singing it again and again. I think you can win this show."

But, there was major disappointment for Brighton's Cedric Neal, who despite a superb performance of Panic at the Disco's High Hopes, failed to make it through even though he was one of the favourites to win.

Prior to the performance, the 44-year-old who lives in Patcham Windmill, said: "I was so happy to be in the semi-final. In the knockout stages I was so nervous and it was the most nervous I have ever being in my life.

"Everything in my life I have prepared for this moment."

His coach, Sir Tome Jones, said: "I can't wait to see one of your shows. You are an incredible singer. That was a tough song to sing."

Jennifer said: "I love watching you because you enjoy what you do. It's inspiring to watch."

Olly said: "This takes me way back to the auditions. We all know we had to turn around for you because you bring so much energy to the room. You make the world pay attention to you."
