AN INDIE rock band who are on the comeback trail are to play at Brighton Racecourse.

Cheshire band Doves, who formed in 1998, are best known for their albums The Last Broadcast and its follow-up Some Cities.

Some Cities went to number one in the album chart and included the single Black And White Town, which reached number six in the singles charts.

The band have previously supported U2 at Twickenham and also Oasis at the City of Manchester Stadium. They took a break in 2010 and reformed at the beginning of this year.

Doves will play at the Racecourse on Friday, July 26.

The show will take place the day before the hotly anticipated performance by Rag ’n’ Bone Man, providing what should be an exciting weekend of music in the city.

Rag ’n’ Bone Man honed his skills in the city and is from Uckfield.
