POLICE are hunting a pervert who jumped out of bushes to expose himself to a 13-year-old girl.

The girl was walking home from a friend’s sleepover with her friend’s mum, when the man emerged from nearby bushes and pulled down his shorts at around 2pm on Saturday, May 4.

It happened at Chalvedon Field.

The mother of the friend said: “He whistled three times before I turned around and shouted ‘don’t look’, don’t look’.”

The male, described as short, stocky and bald, moved out into the path in a heavily wooded and bushy area, which leads to Northlands Primary School and several Chalvedon shops.

The girl’s father, who immediately drove to the nearby park after a phone call from the mother, said: “It was chucking it down with rain and it was broad daylight.

“The police met us in the park, but we couldn’t find him.

“Frustratingly he was apparently seen an hour-and-a half later.”

It is alleged this is one of a number of similar incidents on the path and police are investigating.

The mother said: “We’ve spoken to a lot of people and they have come forward but not reported it to police.

“A couple on Facebook said they had seen the same man doing the same thing, it makes me think that he’s a regular.”

Volunteers have started searching for him to help the police stop it happening to more children

The mother added: “Me and my partner tested the bushes and you can see out but you can’t see in.

“He stands there watching the children, it’s disgusting, she is only 13.”

“There’s no lights on that stretch and I constantly feel like there’s someone watching you - it turns out there was.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “It was reported a man whistled at the victim, a 13-year-old girl, before acting inappropriately.

“It happened in Winifred Road at around 2pm on May 4.
