EYEWITNESSES have reported seeing a driver and his passenger fleeing the scene of a crash.
The alleged incident took place in Sutton Road, Rochford, shortly after 12.30pm today.

Busy - firefighters were at the scene directing traffic
A red Mini struck a parked silver Vauxhall before sliding out of control into the busy road in front of oncoming traffic from both directions.
No one was hurt and no other cars collided with the Mini.
Eye witnesses say two men aged in their twenties were seen to get out of the car after the crash.
Fire crews were at the scene diverting traffic.
A spokesman for Essex Fire Service, said: "Crews were called to a road traffic collision at Sutton Road, Rochford, at 12.43pm.
"No one was trapped, firefighters were not needed to take any action."
A spokesman for Essex Police, said: "We were called to reports of a collision in Sutton Road, Rochford, just after 12.35pm on May 10.
"One of the cars, a red Mini, was then abandoned at the scene.
"Officers are continuing a search of the area to try and find the occupants of the Mini.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 507 of 10/05."
