BB gun found hidden behind bins in park during knife sweep
A BB gun was found hidden behind a set of bins in a Southend park.
Police found the weapon while conducting a knife sweep on Thursday.
It is unclear at this stage which park the BB gun was found in, but Essex Police have been contacted and more details requested.
The BB gun will now be tested by police forensics to determine if it can be linked to a crime.
A spokesman for the Southend community policing team said: "Officers from the Community Policing Team were conducting a knife sweep in a Southend Park yesterday.
"Unfortunately this BB Gun was found hidden behind some bins.
"This will now go to our forensic team to see if we can link it to a crime or an offender."
