THE Brexit party has taken a huge share of the vote in European Parliament elections in Southend -- but the pro-European parties also do well.
Nigel Farage's party polled 18,032 votes. There were 43,052 votes cast in total.
However, when placed together the Remain camp - Lib Dems and Greens and Change UK also scored impressively with a total of 14,764 votes.
The Tory and Labour votes suffered and the Lib Dems saw a widely-predicted resurgence, polling 8,085 votes in Southend.
