A MAN and a teen are due in court in connection with a fight at a cinema event.
Officers called after midnight on Saturday, May 25, with reports of a disturbance close to King George V playing field, in Eastwood Road, Rayleigh.
Levi Bellfield, 18, of Belgrave Close, Leigh-on-Sea, was charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, two counts of using threatening behaviour or words to stir up hatred on grounds of sexual orientation and two counts of criminal damage.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Monday, May 27, and is due to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, June 12.
A 17-year-old boy from Rayleigh, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with resisting arrest and threatening behaviour and he is due to appear at Basildon Youth Court on Tuesday, June 25.
