A Burnham RNLI crew halted a training session to save a person stuck in the middle of Brandy Hole.
The crew were carrying out a training exercise this morning (May 26) when they had a call from HM Coastguard that a person was injured in the middle of the River Crouch.
A spokesman said: "The D Class was immediately launched to locate and assist the casualty however when making communications with the coastguard the information was updated to a person in their dinghy who was unable to make way against the tide and had been stuck on a mooring at Brandy Hole for over an hour.
"At this time the volunteer crew were unable to establish whether the casualty had been in the water or not."
The team moved as quickly as possible to locate the casualty in Brandy Hole moorings.
It was later confirmed the person was safe and well and they were quickly returned to the pontoon.
