A young crew of dancers have made it through to the finals of a national competition.

Epic Dance Academy, from Burnham, travelled to Chatham in Kent for the 101 Events Street Dance Championship qualifiers.

The academy, which trains at Trackside Gym in Station Approach and has dancers aged as young as six, were up against 200 other teams in the competition.

But they had a very impressive day, with both the junior and senior squads reaching the finals, which will be held in November.

The dance academy came home with 12 trophies overall and medals for each member of the teams.

To round of a hugely successful run, the academy received a 100 per cent pass rate in their exams in April.

Academy principal Carlie Boler said: “The 101 Events Street Dance competition was huge and as always our team did themselves, their parents and their teachers proud.

“They work so hard at every class and deserve every bit of success they achieve.

“Their exam results are also testament to that.

“I couldn’t be more pleased for them all.”
