TALENTED graphic design students at South Essex College have brightened Southend Central train station with a series of artworks.

The students were tasked with creating illustrations of Southend landmarks to go on display at the station.

Representatives of c2c visited the college to select the winning designs which would be put on display.

Students Jak Bridgehouse and Alisha Carrington were selected as the winners and were rewarded with a pair of return tickets to London.

Designs by Blade Lee, Jasmine Maycock, Aaron Attard, Amy Haynes, Danica Pagunsan, Joshua Bathan and Luca Gulyas were also selected to go on display.

Astra Achong, Graphic Design Course Leader, said: “The work experience team works hard to get students relevant industry placements to aid their studies.

“The students gained valuable experience of working with a client with this project, and are proud to have their work displayed at Southend Central station.”

A c2c spokesman added: “We are delighted to be involved in this art project with South Essex College.

“The posters have brought a bit of much needed colour to the subway and has made it more welcoming as people walk through.”
