EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene of a crash after a car left the road and ended up in a ditch.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning when the white car left Southmayne, near the slip road of the A13 Pitsea flyover.

The car crashed onto the roundabout and ended up on the grass underneath the flyover.

It is believed only one vehicle was involved and dozens of witnesses rushed to help.

Three police cars, a paramedic rapid response vehicle and an ambulance rushed to the scene and the road was closed while officers dealt with the incident.

Essex Police confirmed no one was seriously injured or arrested for driving offences as a result of the crash.

The road was reopened once the crash and the debris had been cleared.
