IPSWICH Town stalwart Ken Goody is back in football.
The popular and vastly-experienced former Blues academy coach and kit man has joined the backroom team at Coggeshall Town.
“Ken joins predominantly as our kit manager but his wealth of knowledge and experience within the game makes him a huge asset to the club as a whole," said Seedgrowers manager Graeme Smith.
"I can’t wait to have him involved on match days and on the training ground."
For three decades, Goody, who lives in Langenhoe, near Colchester, was part of the fabric both at Portman Road and the Blues’ training base in Playford Road.
However, he called time on his distinguished professional career at the end of last season, bringing an end to his lengthy association with the Suffolk club.
He worked with hundreds of young players and their parents, including high-profile proteges Richard Wright, Darren Bent, Darren Ambrose and Kieron Dyer.
Coggeshall play their football in Isthmian League division north and will be gunning for promotion next season, having missed out in the play-offs last year after losing to Maldon and Tiptree.
