YOUNG gardeners rolled up their sleeves to help plant fruit and vegetables.
The keen schoolchildren were invited to Frinton’s edible garden to help put crops in place for the summer season.
The plot, at the seafront Crescent Gardens, hosts young gardeners from Frinton Primary School.
David Foster, chairman of Frinton in Bloom, said: “It is always nice to welcome the children to the gardens to take part in some planting.
“They always seem to enjoy themselves, planting all kinds of things from tomatoes to strawberries.”
Members of the community can help themselves to the freshly-grown crops.
The edible garden has been recreated each summer over the past five years.
In Bloom volunteers hope the project will raise awareness of healthy eating and the benefits of growing your own food.
