FRINTON Golf Club's Harris Bowl team vanquished their Maylands foes thanks to a resounding 4½-½ win.
The ever-present wind increased to near gale-force for the match, which didn’t suit the visitors.
All the matches were played in good spirits, ensuring a pleasant day for the players and their caddies.
Havers Course members were eligible to play for the Cooper Cup on Saturday.
This is an 18-hole stableford with a handicap limit of 24.
On the hottest day of the year so far, Peter Outtridge remained cool as a cucumber, winning with 40 points.
Nick Brown was in second place with 39 points.
Three men finished on 37 points, with David Partridge awarded third place on countback.
The last Friday of the month stableford was also open to all Havers Course members.
The wind was hammering in from the north but David Hansom took it in his stride to win the competition with 40 points.
Five men finished with 38 points, with Chris Paxon awarded second place and Chris Taylor third, both on countback.
