RESIDENTS raised concerns this morning after travellers were seen parked at Festival Leisure Park.
The travellers parked their four caravans close to the entrance to the car park.
Despite concerns, the group were not seen to be causing problems to visitors and were given permission to park there temporarily to fix the engine in one of their caravans.
Matthew Chambers, centre manager of Festival Leisure Park, said: “Four caravans arrived on site [yesterday], they informed us they would leave by 10am on Monday [today].
"Currently they have not left due to fault with a pump on one their cars. They have been asked to leave again, bailiffs have been instructed and are due to arrive on site shortly.
"The police attended site at 8pm last night to assess the situation.”
Essex Countywide Travellers Unit and Essex Police have been contacted for a comment.
