SCHOOL leavers celebrated the end of an era in style at their proms.

Students at Colchester County High School for Girls had an emotional evening reminiscing over their time at the school.

Year 11 girls celebrated at the Stoke by Nayland Hotel.

A red London bus even made an appearance as it dropped off some of the students.

Year 13 then marked the end of their time at school with a ball at the same venue.

One group arrived by military ambulance.

The ladies were dressed to impress and enjoyed an evening of music and dancing.

They also posed for photographs which they will treasure as memories from their time at the school.

Gillian Marshall, headteacher at Colchester County High School for Girls, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to attend the Year 13 Leavers’ Ball and to join the Year 11 students at their end of year celebratory event.

“On behalf of all the staff and governors, we wish Year 13 every success and happiness as they progress on to exciting new opportunities and we hope Year 11 are enjoying a well deserved summer break.

“We look forward to welcoming the majority of Year 11 back into the Sixth Form in September.”
